Facial recognition technology is by no means a new solution in the IT market, as initial development of the service began in the 1960s and has been used mostly for security purposes for decades.The technology is, however, the focus of increasing attention by enterprises in recent years as increased accuracy and lower costs are enabling facial recognition technology to offer a wide variety of solutions for the enterprise beyond security services. As a result, enterprises are getting more aggressive in deploying facial recognition solutions.【抄訳】顔認証技術は決して新しいものではなく、その研究開発は1960年代に遡り、主にセキュリティ目的で長く利用されてきた。しかし、近年、精度の向上と低コスト化により、セキュリティ用途に限らず、幅広い用途で利用できる技術として企業の注目を集めている。企業は顔認証技術の活用に向けてより積極的な姿勢を示している。
